UPM-Kymmene Corporation has announced a strategic review of its UPM Plywood business area to explore avenues for maximizing long-term value in a changing market landscape. The review may consider options such as divestment, partial demerger, or an initial public offering, aiming to identify the best path forward for the plywood unit. UPM’s President and CEO, Massimo Reynaudo, highlighted the company’s ongoing portfolio optimization to unlock full value potential, emphasizing the plywood business’s established strength and customer focus. Executive Vice President Tuija Suur-Hamari cited UPM Plywood’s efficient production, strong commercial model, and value-driven WISA® brand as key assets.
