Star Paper Mill Nears Completion of $54 Million Recycled Containerboard Mill in Abu Dhabi

Star Paper Mill announced it is nearing the completion of its new $54 million recycled containerboard facility in KEZAD, Abu Dhabi, with 95% of construction finished. The state-of-the-art mill, designed to produce 134,000 metric tons annually, will supply high-quality recycled containerboard for various packaging uses. With a deckle width of 5.2 meters and basis weights from 80 to 220 GSM, the mill's portfolio features Testliner, Fluting, Kraft Top Liner, Semi-Kraft, and bag paper. Emphasizing circular economy principles, the facility will source 80% of waste paper domestically and import the rest from global markets. Star Paper Mill has also secured extra land for potential expansion and formed an exclusive distribution partnership with Europe-based heinzelsales. Trial production is set to begin by year-end, supporting the UAE's vision for sustainable industry growth.
