Russian Paper Mill Advances Comprehensive Modernization of Cardboard Machine KDM-1

At cardboard machine KDM-1, the second drying group has been upgraded with a cutting-edge slalom dryer fabric washing system now fully operational. This new equipment's key advantage is its ability to clean the drying fabric without stopping the machine, significantly reducing the downtime for maintenance during scheduled machine pauses. According to Ilya Pystogov, head of KBZ-1, the system will lower steam consumption, prevent productivity loss on KDM, and improve the uniformity of moisture profile in both paper web and finished products — benefits unattainable with a dirty drying fabric. This upgrade follows the recently installed new bottom pressure box as part of the continuing comprehensive modernization of KDM-1, aiming to enhance machine efficiency and product quality for the paper mill’s operations.
