Mondi Partners with Özler Tarım to Cut Food Waste with Custom Sustainable Packaging

Mondi, a global leader in sustainable packaging, has collaborated with Türkiye’s Özler Tarım to develop a tailored packaging solution aimed at reducing food waste in long-distance shipments. Özler Tarım, a major exporter of fresh produce to markets including Japan, Canada, and the US, sought packaging that can withstand humidity, temperature changes, and stacking pressure during transport. The solution employs a durable double-wall corrugated fibre structure with a flat-stackable design that streamlines production and shipping. This innovation has enabled Özler Tarım to increase production capacity by 15% at its Adana facility while eliminating costs related to packaging defects like damaged goods. Both companies emphasized how this partnership enhances product protection, operational efficiency, and sustainability, strengthening brand reputation and customer satisfaction in global markets.
