Andritz to Supply High-Capacity Recovery Boiler to Century Pulp and Paper in India

Andritz has been selected to provide a new recovery boiler for Century Pulp and Paper’s mill in Lalkuan, Uttarakhand, slated for start-up in early 2027. The boiler, with a capacity of 950 tds/day, will replace an existing unit and boost the mill’s green energy production. Supplied on an EPC basis, the scope includes an electrostatic precipitator for low particulate emissions. Designed to process black liquor from hardwood, bamboo, and bagasse, the project reinforces Century Pulp and Paper’s commitment to environmental performance and energy stability. Ajay Gupta, CEO of Century, highlighted the improvement in sustainability, while Andritz India’s CEO, Sridhar Gopalan, emphasized state-of-the-art technology offering safety, availability, and efficiency benefits. This marks Andritz’s seventh recovery boiler delivery in India, underscoring its strong presence in the country’s pulp and paper industry
